A Flat Plate Collector (FPC) is an insulated metal box with a toughened glass cover and a copper absorber plate beneath. As radiant solar energy penetrates the glass, it gets absorbed by the copper fin and heats water flowing through the copper riser tubes via natural thermosiphon circulation.
